The point I'm trying to get at is that we've become spoiled by the onslaught of tablets, and the advent smart phone era.
We have forgotten about the power of PCs/Laptop Pcs and how together your media array ( i.e your laptop, tablet, and smart phone) working in tandem could bring your businesses potential to new heights through great focus and the use of applied techniques in addition to simple gestures that could help automate menial processes eliminating the need to lets say, for example ship off a package that's been awaiting payment and it has now has cleared funds for shipping.
We've been spoiled because we have a social networking plethora of applications designed to aid us in anything from graphics production, to 3d printing, and Cad and Cam animations to say the least.
These devices helped even propel the PC (personal computer) and made it possible to minimize the size of a computer and simultaneously optimize the power for maximum output.
Gaming combined with the aforementioned took us to new heights with companies like Microsoft, Sony, and Sega, and Nintendo becoming the front runners in a technological revolution that beset the current standard today of pushing limited technologies to their limits which in turn aided mankind in many ways but the main way was stated earlier...
Interlinking ( i.e two devices that speak the same code, that work together to achieve the users desired taskings. Later the achievement of newer faster cooler running processors which handle the weight or load of such processes as they are allocated and distributed to their proper channels so to speak to maintain power consumption and output demands while still maintaining system balance and core functioning)
Just over 20 years ago, it would have been of a great benefit for a business to be able to send out a tweet and announce special events and instantly tell their recipients and potential sign ups and random people that there were changes being made. ( Instant sales lead data generated in real time to deduce what your customer base wants vs what they don't want. ) Back then there was yahoo instant messenger IM, and many others with slim security protocols in place for privacy. While it was great for social networking in its infancy I can say it wasn't quite precise enough to promote creative businesses that rely on the word-of-mouth (W.O.M) method in addition to a limited budgeted advertisement campaign.
